Free your voice. Free your self. (and grow your brand to new heights).

During my Howl at the Moon Workshop, when discussing our blocks – what holds us back from becoming our greatest content creating selves – one of the members bravely said, “I feel like I can’t be authentic because I want so badly to speak out against this administration.”

But she fears losing potential clients and business.

In reality, she only needs one new client a month, 12 clients a year. Do you think she could find 12 people who agree with her political position? Of course she can!

Taking a stand (or not) is a total mind game.

And it's one you can win.

When my clients finally free themselves, the results are the same every time. Their bravery takes their personal brands to new heights. They all report feeling free, feeling more like themselves (in work and in life), and they all win new business as a result. In fact, the new business is secondary to the joy of finally being themselves.

But here’s what happens when your irrational mind takes over, and fear sets in, preventing you from saying something or doing something – not only do we lose our democracy, but on an individual level, we feel like absolute crud as we watch it all fall apart.

The key is to focus on what you can control. And you can control what you say and do, and you have the right to express yourself in work and in life.

Not becoming your true self, and not finding your voice – it will eat you alive.

Why though?

Why can't we just disengage and disappear into our bubbles?

It's not good for us. Humans are here for a higher purpose. We’re not just here to make a buck, buy a nice house, a few cars, maybe a few trips to Europe and then move on to whatever is next. We are here for one another, for our planet, for our children… and we are here now.

Action isn’t something you save for later.

In 2026, imagine what could be if you find your courage.

As you begin 2026, please consider adding the courage to speak up to your new year’s resolution list. 2025 saw Americans standing up like never before, on a scale never seen before, and there’s momentum, but we have to keep going and push harder.

Last January, my boutique branding agency, Good Now, issued a proclamation that we refuse to work with anyone who supports fascism, denies the reality of climate change, and anyone who doesn’t believe equality should be a priority in our society.

Did our business tank? Did we lose clients? Quite the opposite.

The past year’s business growth exceeded all of my expectations. And, personally, I grow stronger every day knowing that I’m very much a part of the fight.

If you are struggling with the idea of aligning your business or personal brand on the right side of history, here’s some food for thought…

Name three people in history who you would absolutely love to meet, those who you admire most. Now look at these three names. I am willing to bet that each one of them took a stand in their lifetime.

We’re humans first, Americans second and business people last.

You won’t be remembered for how nice your bank account was or your damn job title.

You’ll be remembered for doing something positive for your community, your country and your countryman.

If you are struggling to find the words, please follow me for inspo.

This year on our podcast, Citizen Rebel, we are going to unpack building your brand voice step by step, episode by episode. Starting with establishing your goals, all the way through to bringing your story to life.

The path is there, all you need to do is take the first step.

I'm cheering you on,
